COMFORTABLE FEATURES | WOMEN’S FISHING
- All of the boats have fully private heads with real flush toilets and curtains covering the windows.
- You can sit comfortably on the padded seating inside the heated boat cabins.
- Food sanitation is strictly enforced; when the captain or deckhand makes deli lunches on the boat, they are required to wear clean latex gloves.
- Rain gear comes in smaller sizes, starting at extra-small bib bottoms and hooded tops, and rubber boots starting at size four.
- Free laundry facilities are available, so you can always feel dressed in fresh, clean clothing.
- You can also buy Wild Strawberry Lodge apparel (fashion statement) on-site.
Many ladies are at different comfort and skill levels when it comes to fishing, and we can accommodate them all. If you already know how to mooch for salmon, we will hand you a rod and you can fish to your heart’s content. If you need extra help, we will assist you as much as you need. Should a fish be particularly big or strong and you need a hand reeling it in, we will be right there for you. The captains and deckhands are always friendly and patient. They are happy to show guests how to fish and will never look down on you or make you feel bad for being unfamiliar with fishing techniques.
When you get in from fishing, you will have time to shower and relax before dinner, and enjoy freshly made appetizers to snack on while you wait. The bedrooms all have private bathrooms, and everything is cleaned daily to very high standards.

Hi Karina, This is Cindy. I have been wanting to send you a thank you for all you and your group did for us to make this a wonderful adventure. This trip has been on my bucket list to do for some time, just being able to go to Alaska and fish was something that I have wanted to do, but you and your staff made this trip so much more. The way that you took care of us from the planning at the beginning to the last day was more than any of us expected.
The way that your chef meet with us that first day and worked with us on our different dietary needs. From some of us being vegan, some vegetarians, and some with food allergies. I know that it must have been hard to come up with a menu for the boat and at the lodge. But your chef and his team did an outstanding job. Thank you. Then captain Dave and deckhand Carson were so kind and worked so hard to take care of us ladies, even when we got sea sick. They did everything they could to find fish and calm water. They were outstanding and so much fun to watch when Karen, our oldest member, did catch a king salmon. I don’t know who had more fun getting that fish in the boat Karen or Dave and Carson.
Then there was Jenna who gave us a tour of Sitka telling us about the history of the town and answering our questions. She also was a life saver when she would drive us down to the boat and pick us up at the end of the day. Some of us have mobility issues, and the rest were just tired. She was so helpful and has a great personality. The rest of the staff that we met and had a chance to spend time with were enjoyable and made us feel more them welcome. To any ladies who have thought of going deep sea fishing in Alaska, but think that it is only for men then need to look at Wild Strawberry Lodge. As one of our ladies said, “never in her wildest dreams did she think that she would go deep sea fishing in Alaska.” Thank you for making this trip a great adventure.

You and your friends can EACH save 5% to 10% on the rates listed above for your Alaskan sport fishing and lodging vacation package! All you have to do is come fishing together during our Buddy Special dates. The Buddy Special Savings for summer 2026 are as follows:

LARGE GROUP SPECIALS
Save an additional 5% off prime time rates, for parties of 12 or more people only from July 3rd thru August 31st. This is a great deal for business groups, extended families, and good fishing “buddies” who want to come in the middle of the summer, when the fishing is awesome, but the “Buddy Specials” are not running during prime time. NON-FISHING GUEST RATES
Non-Fishing Guests lodging with a fishing guest, are welcome at a special rate of $395 per person, per day, for their non-fishing services. This includes lodging, meals, local transportation, and amenities. Special requests for alternative lodging can be arranged for an additional fee. Sitka is a great tourist and hiking town and there is plenty to do if you are not going fishing. We are happy to help arrange activities and transportation for non-fishing guests.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED
All rates are per person based on a minimum of double occupancy. Package price does not include airfare, dinner on arrival night, trip insurance, gratuities, or applicable taxes. There is a 6% city sales tax per person. (There is no extra cost if the arrival night lodging needs to be at a nearby hotel located 3 minutes away). Prices and taxes are subject to change without notice.
