Our partnership with Tongass National Forest for waterfowl permitting gives us incredible range across Southeast Alaska, allowing us to follow the migration and position our hunters where the birds want to be. Sitka remains one of the last places in the United States where non-resident hunters can legally harvest harlequin ducks, making this a true once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Our primary targets include bufflehead, harlequin, Barrow’s goldeneye, long-tailed duck, mergansers, common scoter, and white-winged scoter, with opportunities for mallards, teal, and geese as they present themselves. All hunts at Wild Strawberry Lodge are fully guided, ensuring both safety and success on the water. We specialize in small, personalized groups of 2–10 hunters, creating an experience that feels tailored rather than crowded, and we’re happy to make special arrangements for larger corporate groups, family reunions, or destination hunting trips. Every trophy bird is handled with care in the field so it can be properly mounted because we know many of these species represent a true bucket-list achievement. Our trips are designed to be all-inclusive, covering lodging, meals, guiding, transportation during your stay, and hunt logistics so you can focus entirely on the experience. The only items not included in our rates are airfare to Sitka, hunting licenses and stamps, alcohol, and gratuities.
