On behalf of the Buie Party, I want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU! We truly had a blast….Arthur and Jess had been after the rest of us to plan a fishing trip for at least 5 years! I don’t know why we waited so long to take the plunge. WE all had a TRULY memorable experience. Captain John is TOP KNOTCH, he and his First Mate “Big Mike” were professional, knowledgeable and left no fish un-filleted.
We were all impressed with the amenities; all meals were included except the first night. We had a full course breakfast, pancakes, fresh fruit, home made biscuits and gravy and oatmeal. We were under way each day by 0600 and lunch was served on the vessel (High Roller). After we returned to the lodge (5:00 p.m.) we enjoyed a FIVE Star Dinner. We were not expecting a World Class Highly Trained Chef! Chef Tony was truly special.
Each day we were completely worn out after the catch. Calvin caught a “barn door” 225 halibut that was 63 inches long! Captain Johnny really delivered, he knew just were and when to give the command; “Rods in the water”. We were not disappointed; each of us (party of 6) came back with 100 pound of fresh fish (King Salmon, Coho, Ling Cod, Halibut, Rock fish and Red Snapper). It gives us GREAT pleasure to recommend the Wild Strawberry Lodge! Check out the web site, prior to returning to shore, photos were taken of the day’s catch [Sept. 1, 2, 3, & 4, 2010]….seeing is believing and as they say….we will be BACK! Thanks again for the ABSOLUTE best fishing vacation we have ever taken!
